Using MoDaCo costum HTC Desire Froyo rom with unrevoked?

Hi guys:)

So I used this software here from http://unrevoked.com/

Because I was to uncertain if I was making mistakes following the guide.

Using unrevoked was a success, and yes I know it´s the easy way out.

I got a rooted Android 2.1 and have now had successful access to android market paid apps (I live in Denmark so I wanted access to market enabler)

I find it a bit of a pity though that it´s "only" Android Eclair as I would have Liked Android FroYo (2.2)

So heres my Question. Is there a MoDaCo Rom based on Android Froyo 2.2 that is made just to be "stock" or as default or standard as possible. That is ofc. rooted with super user access. Plainly is there a rom thats stable enough to be a "every day use rom" and not just experimental?

And secoundly, using unrevoked you can either flash it with the stock 2.1 Eclair rom that the app falshes with by standard. Or you can make costum recovery where the program will accept *.img files.

If I have understood correctly MoDaCo roms are by default zip files.

Can I turn these costum roms into .img files and flash my device using unrevoked?

If I can do that what do I do? do I put the .zip file in a burner application and create an img file of that content, resulting in a img files containing a zip file and then load it into unrevoked?

Or do I extract the zip file in a burner application, and turn the extracted data into a img file?

And afterwards run it through unrevoked?

I ask this for one because I am afraid to brick my Desire phone, for the other because, it seems logical to unzip the file and turn it into an img file, but in the guides, flashing normally it has been crucial that the ROM is contained within the zip file when flashing, and as I can´t see what unrevoked 3 is doing I am inclined to presume it puts the costum rom zip file where you would otherwise put it in the manual steps, thus it inclines that for it to work you have to make a img file of the zip file itself and not the content within or in other words not the extracted data of the zip file but the entire zip file.

Please help it would be so awsome if I could flash my HTC Desire with a MoDaCo Froyo rom.:(

On the Unrevoked Wiki website it says:

How do I use a custom recovery image instead of the packaged ClockworkMod?

You will need to choose a .img file, which is a binary file suitable for flashing. A .zip file will not work and may render your recovery partition inaccessible until you run unrevoked3 with an appropriate image.

How should this be understood? ofc. the program wont accept a zip file, but should this prevent me from turning the zip file into an img file? can MoDaCo maybe provide an img file of a suitable rom??

Kind Regards

You're getting confused a bit.

ClockworkMod isn't a ROM, it's a recovery image. ClockworkMod recovery comes with Unrevoked by default, so no need to go hunting for a .img file as I find ClockworkMod powerful enough for my needs.

Your phone has a recovery partition which needs a recovery console pushed into it. The recovery console is what you use to flash custom ROMs (Such as Modaco ROMs).

So basically, Unrevoked will root your phone and install a recovery console to your phone, which you then go into to flash your custom ROM .zip file from your SDCard.

Ah so now it´s rooted and then I load a Froyo rom in?

I know I am not very good at this, can you give me instructions on what to do? and maybe provide a link to a MoDaCo ROM that is stable and based on FroYo?
