Guest Asselberghs Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Hi guys Do any of you know of an app that will let you get Nexus One boot screen as the boot screen on HTC Desire? I found some apps that claim to be able to change the boot screen on the device, but diden´t work on my HTC Desire. I am trying to make my Desire look as much as possible as the Nexus One and stock Android. Until such time as there´s a Android 2.2 Froyo rom out there stable enough to use for everyday purposes then I´ll flash it on my HTC Desire. You can do that right? Unlike most folk I´d like to turn my HTC Desire into Nexus One and not the other way around. I don´t actually despise HTC sense I just like the look of the stock Android better. So can you do this stuff? Kind Regards Asselberghs

Guest Pavelol Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 totally agree with immortal. i dont understand either.
Guest bigdan35 Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Well mate, if you don't know what you're doing, some guides would be very useful. If you're not keen on HTC Sense, why don't you try LauncherPro from the Android Market? It's very good, customisable, and works well, and you can make it look like the Stock Android no problem. I also use LauncherPro. I do like HTC Sense, don't get me wrong.. But once I found LauncherPro, I didn't look back. As for the Boot Screen, the Nexus One one is nice, not gonna lie, but if you're on a branded phone, like Orange, which ruined a perfectly good white HTC Boot Screen, then just root your phone and add a decent ROM on to it. :(. Word of advice, enjoy the phone you've got mate! The Desire is gorgeous, just don't tinker around with something which may not be your field of expertise, you don't want to end up with a paper weight. Dan
Guest Tymmy Dee Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...rom-data-local/ Flash the mod if using 2.2 and use boot animation changer free from market to change to Nexus boot. Ok ignore that. It's not what you're after. Edited July 27, 2010 by Tymmy Dee

Dan I have succeeded in manually replacing the bootscreen through some other guide on MoDaCo. So this step is actually done by now:) but thanks anyway:=) I think I am as close as I am gonna get to a stock Nexus One look, other than flashing a Nexus One rom onto my phone. Which I guess will be the next step when MoDaCo has announced a Android FroYo rom that is stable and secure enough to use for everyday purposes.:(

I was actually going to recommend you having a gander at Neophytes ROM over on xda-developers, I flashed it earlier on and it had the nexus one boot, and I was like "omg, must tell him!", so here I am telling you now, ha. Kinda ripped Sense off the ROM, and must've done it wrong because for 2 hours I had a gorgeous £370 brick, sorted it out, thank god I did a Nandroid backup first XD. Dan
