Guest Blackfish Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Fast...nothing else to say...damn...Android 2.1 is so slow against Froyo... Problems so far: - Kinetic scrolling has very heavy bugs - Lags are back :( Nandroid backup to 2.1...
Guest goondu Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 (edited) Problems so far: - Kinetic scrolling has very heavy bugs - Lags are back :( Nandroid backup to 2.1... Agreed with the scrolling. As to the lag, all I can say it is about the same (comparing stock to stock rom). I did a quadrant when I just got my SGS, the score was 867. JP2 gives me a score of 1005. Nandroid backup to 2.1? Doubt you can do it straight away, because you won''t be able to use update.zip. You still need odin to flash back to 2.1 and then use nandroid to restore. Seems like both internal and external sd is read only. Pushing the update zip to the sdcard is useless, the file is there but the size is 0 byte. Hence no matter what update.zip you use, the result will still be the same. Also while in adb you think that you have root, but if you use the new native terminal emulator, we cannot use it. Refer to the 2 images below. Using the native Terminal Emulator (probably because this is a dev rom), I cannot do a su, as seen below. Also when I do a df there is one folder that has permission denied. Edit: If we can change the sdcard to rw, then perhaps we may have a chance to get it rooted. Also looks like the file structure is different from eclair 2.1. I'm not sure if there is anyone working to get this dev rom rooted, because I do see the potential. Edited July 29, 2010 by goondu

I can push update.zip to /sdcard without any problem while in recovery mode. Did it 30 mins ago when trying to get clockwork recovery to boot which i got in the end though i got a new problem there now... it can't mount /sdcard to can't do nandroid :(
