Guys i was wandering if this happens to anyone else..

while charging my phone via the usb charger, if im using or running an application such as tridroyd or the dolphin browser or anything in general my phones battery gets really hot. it doesnt affect the phone at all but is it supposed to heat up like that and should i be worried?..

it might mot mean anything but im currently on the FLB v1.1

also while im on the topic of the usb charger it takes forever to charge my phone.. its like even when im on the phone and its plugged in the battery will still be going down until the point where its critical and the only reason my phone wont die is because its plugged in..

my friend left his blackberry 8520 charger at my house and i used it to charge my phone it took like 2 hours and lasted the normal time. i dont want to carry on using that charger if its not good for my phone but the charger im using currently takes the mick.

so two issues here

- the heating up of the phone

- and the crappy usb charger

thanks in advance guys

Hi

I have exactly the same problem. My Pulse also gets very hot when using Google Maps Navigation and charging at the same time.

The only way I could reliably charge (and avoid it getting hot) it was to turn the processor speed to about 250Mhz-360Mhz (using SetCPU) then the phone would charge and could be used at the same time for navigation.

...hm...

used co-pilot 8 for 80 minutes last week, while it should have been charged via car-charger. everathing worked just fine but i was wondering, why battery was low after. i pressumed the carcharger being faulty.

Tbh the phone can get a lot hotter than it does :(

It seems with any 2.1 rom charging and using any cpu intensive app causes the phone to heat up extremely fast :(

Same here.

It felt like 50°C the last time I was surfing the web while my Pulse was charging and lying on the bed.

But from what I can tell the charging time will not decrease if you take a stronger charger.

The Pulse charges with ~500mA - I tried several 1A chargers but it still took as long as usual to fully charge.

But I think the Pulse's charging time is still good.

My gf just bought a SE Vivaz PRO, and hell, its charging current is only 150mA :(

It takes AGES to charge ...

Best regards,

BB
