Guest maskaler Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Anyone seen this? http://update.zingstaging.com/LatestBuild/...stBuild_31.html The link has 4917 in it. I've got a 21 phone though so don't think I can't try it (the 21 link showing 3883). If this is the same as it was last time we had a kerfuffle then forgive me.
Guest s.joel.kong Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 wierd earlier during the day i was checking out this link... http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_31.html and it was 4399 build... i checked it out again its a 4917 build...

Guest Dunhamzzz Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 File name is Streak_106_4917_31.pkg so looks like still Android 1.6 I noticed that http://update.zingstaging.com/LatestBuild/...stBuild_21.html is still reverted to the original 3883 :/
Guest spences10 Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Does anyone know the differences between the builds 3883,4933 etc.
Guest jutley Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 whats the difference between 21 and 31?
Guest Dunhamzzz Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Does anyone know the differences between the builds 3883,4933 etc. Nope, no-one noticed any difference, presumably a few silent bug fixes. whats the difference between 21 and 31? We *think* it's something to do with the basebands, 21 is for EU and 31 for US.

Can i use this new rom to flash over my untouched o2 rom..?
Guest jutley Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 No use this one if you have a 21 baseband you need to use the 21 link its easy stick with the same numbers and you cant go wrong http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_21.html
Guest maskaler Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 It's quite odd - I've no real concrete idea what the 21/31 difference is, though for some reason I thought that those of us in the UK who had O2 phones had 21, whereas those who got it direct from dell had 31? I'm probably way off though.
Guest jutley Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 uk o2 =21 and us=31 so stick to 21 if your from uk
Guest Eric.Druse Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 uk o2 =21 and us=31 so stick to 21 if your from uk +1, I believe so.

I am downloading 21 version now, so i just rename it update.pkg dump on root of sd, then boot in dell recovery and flash? Will this get rid of o2 customisation etc? Cheers....:(

Guest kwft Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 It's worth noting that an unlocked (from Dell.co.uk) UK streak has a baseband ending '00-EU' so may or may not work with a '21' update. I'm not brave enough to try the 21 update as I need my streak working whilst on holiday. Also, is there any reason we're not collating the full baseband strings, & what baseband works with which update, or is it a security issue like IMEIs? Oh aye, and hi, long time lurker, first time poster. :(

Guest popetodd Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 If you try to update a 21 or 00 with a 31 update it will not run the update. I tried the 31 update and it failed while running it's internal verification routines. From my experience you need to use the version your device advertises and if you don't no worry because it won't install.
