Guest fraxos Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Hi to all. Recently my Pulse has developed a very strange problem. In particular, whislt I can receive and send text messages as well as use the data connections, I find myself unable to make any calls. In particular, I try calling someone and whiel they can hear me, there is no sound coming through on my side. I have tried different 2.1 ROMs, both Paul's and FLB, but to no avail. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks in advance

Guest fraxos Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Can you hear any sound? (Music player, ringtone, etc.) All other sounds work just fine. I also know it is not down to the network as I have tried on 2 different networks and it still does not work. Very strange!

Only difference was I could hear a crackling when the other person spoke. I tested by ringing my home landline answerphone and listening to the message playback. Like yours, everything else worked fine. Unfortunately it turned out to be a hardware fault. Took it back to the T-Mobile shop I bought it from and it was sent away for a warranty repair. The engineer report said they had replaced the earpiece speaker (took 13 days to come back). Good luck Edited July 29, 2010 by johninho
Guest fraxos Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 The plot thickens.... While trying to make a call I pressed the speaker button and now I can hear the other person. Yet when switch that off the problem re-appears. Has anyone experienced this?

Guest fraxos Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Probably the small speaker where your ear would be is broken but the main speaker in the phone is OK. I was really hoping that it was something software-related as I dread to think how long it would take T-Mobile to sort a hardware issue out. And it would actually be quite annoying if it was hardware related as I only bought my Pulse 4 months ago and I doubt T-Mobile would be willing to give me a refund...

Maybe it is country-dependent, hungarian T-Mobile says that they spend 15 calendar days with repairing as the maximum.
