Guest Elisha82 Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 (edited) Hey guys...just picked up my first Android phone yesterday and so far I had installed Xian's V1 rom and then tried LCR 1.7.3 last night and then went back to Xian's rom. So now I want to try LCR 1.8. The question is, since I already have the stock 1.100.39 on the phone, can I just boot to recover and wipe/reset to factory and just flash/update to whatever new rom I want from SD or do I have to start from scratch again by re-flashing 1.100.39? TIA. Edited July 29, 2010 by Elisha82
Guest ondris Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 No need to re-flash the stock rom. Just go in recovery and update :(

Guest akira.pwr Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Better wipe data factory and dalvik cache before flashing a new rom
Guest Elisha82 Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Better wipe data factory and dalvik cache before flashing a new rom Thanks guys, everything seemed to have gone well. Using LCR 1.8 now.
Guest koudelka Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks guys, everything seemed to have gone well. Using LCR 1.8 now. you can also user nandroid to keep configurations you have done after installing rom (installed apps, contacts, etc). as someone who tries alot of roms it is a lifesaver to be able to have a stable backup to move back to and not having to re configure every time :(
Guest Waspinator Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 which rom do u like best? 1.7, 1.8 or xian?
Guest Elisha82 Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Let's just say Xian was the fastest. You could use SET CPU to overclock up to 960mhz without flashing anything else. But for the LCR 1.8, I can't get past the default max. I think I have to install a custom kernel or something. I see some available for the LCR 1.7 but not sure if it will work for the 1.8. But 1.8 seems smoother than 1.7.3 for me anyway.

Well xian was very fast when oc'd (didn't try it vanilla)... on the other hand, lcr 1.8 vanilla is very fast and smooth, and i get higher linpack scores than xian after flashing the xian 1.0 oc'd boot, although this breaks the wifi.
