EDIT: Trying adb reboot bootloader gives me the error "protocol fault (no status)"

Have you tried flashing the official 2.1 t-mobile rom again? Should fix the bootloader if it's become broken. If not you should be able to use the time machine to go back to 1.5 and install everything again.

I had a problem when I tried to put clockwork on my phone through rom manager,turns out I needed to unzip the clockwork folder before putting it on my phone and flashing through rom manager.Not sure if this will help.
