Guest IEFtm Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 (edited) Hi all :-) People seem to be anticipating the full official rooted 2.2 ROM from HTC, so here it is. This has some modifications for my personal needs: 1. Busybox + ROOT :) 2. Old A2SD+ (Cause the Froyo one sucks.), if you don't want to use this, don't create an ext partition on your sdcard. Simple as that. 3. OpenVPN binary with tun modules for the new kernel (loaded on boot) 4. EXT4 support (also through a module on boot) - EXT2 and EXT3 are still supported, don't worry. 5. Wifi 802.11N support. 6. Symlinked /data/local/bootanimation.zip for easy bootanimation replacements. Get your HTC Frozen Yoghurt here. Thanks to FatzzCat for the mirror. Another mirror: fflightning, thanks! And Megaupload Mirror. You will also need the new radio for this: 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20 Edited August 1, 2010 by IEFtm

Guest Pentiboy Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Hi! I have never used aps2sd before so I have to ask if there is something special I need to do before I flash this rom to get A2SD to work. Thanks :)
Guest msdl28712 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 getting a high pitched squeal when using the camcorder then it reboots also have had apps2sd installed before not picking nothing up from sd anyone any ideas
Guest scotch whisky Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 (edited) Seems to be working perfectly here. The camcorder is working extremely well and I think I am seeing all my applications on the SD card. I was using Modaco r6 with ADSL+ before reflashing. I did do a complete wipe first and restored the apps using "My Backup Pro". Haven't found a single problem so far. I also find that the HTC notes widget now works. The circle battery mod for Modaco r5 also appears to work perfectly with this ROM. Thanks IEFtm for the prompt rooted update. Edited August 1, 2010 by scotch whisky

Glad i did'nt do official ota!
Guest svyat Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Thanks a lot IEFtm! Any instructions on upgrading from MCR 3.1? Is it fine to just flash this from custom recovery and then flash the new radio?
Guest amarko5 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 works nice but i have noticed the absence of voice dial button, that was in in paul's rom :-( other than that so far its great :)
Guest RalphM Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 (edited) Hi IEFtm, i just tried flashing your update.zip from Clockworkmod's Recovery, but i got an error that the signature verification failed? Updating the radio worked without a hitch... Update: Nevermind, going through ROM Manager instead of booting into custom recovery somehow did the trick. Perfect ROM, exactly those mods i would have asked for =) What did you have to do as I am having the same problem? I am using an A8183, but that shouldn't make a difference. How do you use ROM Manager? Thanks much Nevermind. I found it. Edited August 2, 2010 by RalphM

Guest msdl28712 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 [reflashed with rom manager still no joy how do i totally wipe mem card including ext3 to start again maybe thats causing a prob anyone help
Guest AndrewMe Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Not bad BUT!!! on the russian keyboard THERE IS NO (!!!) SPACEBAR instead of space the exclamation sign "!" is shown... :)(( WTF Reflash again?
Guest Jwalk Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 anyone help Use rom manager (From Market) to format and partition your SD card.
Guest Jwalk Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Hi! I have never used aps2sd before so I have to ask if there is something special I need to do before I flash this rom to get A2SD to work. Thanks :) you dont need to do anything to use the stock Froyo App2sd, to use A2SD/A2SD+ you will need an EXT3 partition on your SD card, again easiest to partition with Rom manager from the market.
Guest Lukewarm Earthcrawler Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Most but not all youtube clips are not playing, neither in youtube app nor in the browser. A message window appears "Sorry, this video cannot be played. There was a problem while playing. [OK]" Is it just me or others see it too?
Guest Lukewarm Earthcrawler Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 And another trouble with this ROM: list of "HTC Wallpapers" is empty (but "Live Wallpapers" is not). Anyone else seeing it?
Guest Nitrius Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 It's empty here as well, though am using another ROM based on the official 2.2 update by HTC.
Guest spammyspam Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 A straight flash (no wipe) resulted in a number of FCs and missing gadgets. If I have to wipe and start again then I'll wait for MCR to do it. Good effort though.
Guest neomoz Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Myself and another mate of mine noticed with this rom that the browser scrolling is really jerky, something I haven't seen on other 2.2 based roms. Anyways I decided to install the battery circle mod and to my surprise it fixed the jerky browser scrolling. Guessing something is wrong with the framework.apk shipped or the odex file is bad/slow. Using the decompiled and patched framework.apk seems to have made browser scrolling 60fps smooth.
