Hey, i have the rogers liquid e,

ive been following this forum for a while, trying my hand

at rooting, adb, roms, kernels, everything,

but i can never seem to find one with out major faults,

but i think it may because at the start i tired an euro rom,

im trying to just get back to stock and restart, because my battery life is nothing

and also being a liquid e from rogers, what is the best bin for me to use, or be at?

can anyone use them?

1.100.39, any rom. None of them except for the froyo ones (obviously) have any reduced functionality or faults that I've seen.

You can flash any BIN. Each rom in its own thread has info on which bins it is compatible with.

Have you guys been flashing bins? We don't have the stock bin to revert to, that's why I'm hesitant.

I haven't had to modify my baseband to flash anything thus far.

The not having the stock one is a bit of a drawback. For some reason I doubt we'll ever get a Rogers bin, ever.

I probably should have mentioned in my first reply that there is no Rogers one to fall back on :) So flash at your own risk.

I just want to add my two cents in this 'Rogers' thread as I to am just starting to mod my 'E' . I as well have been reading here and other forums, on the best ROM to use. LCR 1.7x or 1.8 or any of the others.

My phone is rooted with 'malez' and am doing my home work on what is out there.

But nothing clearly states bin 1.100.03_PA_ROG.

The thread on HoFo (thanks xaueious) has helped me though the rooting and into the next step ROM.

I have found this on the Acer site but not sure if it is the source code or not (do not have the knowedge)

http://www.acer.ca/acer/service.do?Languag...p;CRC=719687231

The read me file is about 'Linux kernel development

phhusson already put that up on git with a working config as well as some nice patches. http://gitorious.org/liquide/kernel/commits/eclair

For us, just disable CONFIG_SWAP and it's good to go. I also cloned it, but I am not a developer and have been applying commits from all over the place on to it:

http://gitorious.org/liquide-xau/liquide-xau

Most ROMs here use compcache, which we don't need. If it's disabled on your ROM, I highly recommend that you disable it.

The Froyo ROM by phhusson has an issue right now for our phones basically hide 128MB of RAM.

I'm on Xian v1, haven't tried LCR1.8 yet simply because i'm too lazy :)

What is the command to disable Compcache? Ramzswap?

Anyone? I don't want to make a new thread for just this :D

In LCR 1.8 there are 2 scripts in gscript lite: enableRamzSwap and disableRamzSwap. Don't know about Xian 1.0.

Might be "busybox swapoff /dev/block/ramzswap0 "

phhusson was putting the ramzswap script IN his kernel, so it wasn't exactly easy to change if the ROM has no autostart script.
