Secondly, what do you mean by iftm rom?

i have a rooted desire :D

I don't think you even have to wipe, but that's always the safest :)

If you also want to install this ROM you should wipe, then flash the ROM and then flash the radio.

After that you select reboot phone. It will take a long time and there will be some kind of android and some kind of box icon. DO NOT TURN OF YOUR PHONE that's where it's actually installing the radio.

Once it's booted you just turn your phone off and on again and done :D

(the latest thing is only if you also installed the new ROM)

@erto90 yes you need a rooted phone. If you did the OTA upgrade, you'll have to wait, I don't hink there's a method already to root it, but you could always search the forum or xda :P

thanks for the reply, I now know the order I need to do these steps

the problem is actually doing them!

1. how do I wipe (I assume its via a menu on boot)

2. i assume i flash the rom after wipe by accessing another menu

3. radio done in the same way?

i just need a few pointers and then i can happily flash away without worry !!

many thanks

You just have to go to your recovery menu, how to is explained here

Once in the recovery menu, you will see an option "wipe" which is pretty self explanatory

After that you go back to the main screen from your recovery menu, you select "flash zip from sd card", in the next menu u choose "select zip from sd card" an there you select the zip from the ROM, it will flash it, and afterwards you select the zip from the radio.

Once that's done you select "reboot device" from the main recovery screen

got an error regarding the settings application needing to force close, but seemed to go through the setup screen okay

just rebooted so will start to play now

realised i forgot to backup my contacts tho, dammit!

*edit*

i get an error now on start up, there is an icon saying "sim card changed tap to change settings"

when i tap i get the error

"process.com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"

reboot and same thing :)

Ah that's pretty irritating

I have my contacts saved on my gmail account, so the contacts just sync back automaticaly, pretty handy :)

They automatically go to the right place, as long as you have an EXT2/3/4 partition :D

Your internal memory will still go down, but a lot slower than it would have without A2SD :)

I see there is v3.0 now. For those tried v 2.5 or 3.0, please send feedback

i think i have a problem with apps2sd.. installed and partitioned fine (i partitioned with rom manager) but when i installed many apps i got the out of space warning

so i downloaded a program called "sdmove" which appeared to let me move some, and they appear on the "on sd card" menu under applications

so some apps are going there, but it seems most are not, leaving me with this warning?

any ideas?

I have a problem, only some of my apps have the option to move to sd, well, they aren't even my apps, they are apps that were included in the rom that I don't actually want. I can only move some too, most, can't be moved, I can't find an option to choose where to install my apps which is what I thought I would get with it being apps2sd+

I am left with only 63mb of internal storage too.

Also, I did a nandroid back up prior to installing this so that I could revert back but when I try to nandroid restore (sorry, don't really like the rom), it says there are no files.

Now I have to find a way to get back to what I had before.

Am quite happy to stick with non froyo roms at this rate.

Alison
