Should be pretty easy.

It requires you have clockworkmod recovery console.

Plug your phone into your pc, and transfer the new rom zip to the root of your SD card.

Shut down your phone, start it again, hold power and volume down buttom.

Then you are accessing "desire´s boot menu"

Go down to recovery using the volume bottoms to navigate.

Push power to select recovery.

When you enter recovery you are in the clockworkmod recovery console.

Navigate to Nandroid and do a Nandroid backup, now volume buttoms are your up and down navigation and a click on your optical trackpad is selecting an option.

Afterwards when the process is done, you just update as follows:

Select Wipe Data/Factory reset

Next select Wipe cache partition

Select install zip from sdcard

Next you select "choose zip from sdcard"

Now you are browsing the content of your SD card, navigate to the zip that you put on your phone and select it.

Once it´s done, (i´d advice you to have it plugged into your wall charger) you select reboot now.

And you should be rebooting into Pauls new Froyo rom.

Thanks for the info,

I've been avid Winmo user since 2001 and loving the Android experinence, apart from the updating of the roms. :-)

I used ROM manager to upgrade and it was really easy.

I'm sure there are posts here or at XDA all about it.

Basically you just put your ROM on the SD card, run ROM manager then choose your ROM to install.

Job done.

If you want to flash ROM with a2sd(+) using Rom Manager (assuming you don't have anything to keep and want to install everything from scratch):

1. Install ROM Manager from Market

2. Run ROM Manager, select Partition SD Card, with Ext Size = 512MB, Swap Size = 0MB

3. Phone will reboot and start partitioning

4. Copy new ROM.zip to the SD Card

5. Run ROM Manager, select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery

6. Select Install ROM from SD Card, select your ROM.zip and tick Wipe Data and Cache

7. Phone will reboot and start flashing

8. After your phone comes up, reboot it again

9. Enjoy~

Albert
