Well because MS have started rolling out hotmail with Activesync support so you have full push mail and contact syncing thats why i want to install.

Im sure they have started the rollout maybe just havent got as far to my account. :-)
Guest djtosh Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) no they started and have nearly completed the rollout of wave 4 accounts, but exchange activesync is not included in this roll out. It was made available as some sort of test last month for about 2 days. They say they will be starting a separate roll out of exchange activesync later on this summer, so im guessing this month. That would explain why i could never get it to work with my wave 4 account, cheers for the info.
Guest spammyspam Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Apparently this has been activated for all now. Has anyone got it running? Apparently there are issues specifically with the Desire's Exchange client (which kinda sucks). Touchdown works, but is a paid for app (I think).

Apparently some limited successes with the stock android email app on 2.2 roms- I haven't baked it in myself to test but no success so far using the HTC client sadly. -Andrew.
Guest djtosh Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 it works on froyo with stock android but not stock htc or touchdown
Guest spammyspam Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 So is it possible to select some options in the r8 kitchen to get this to work? Android messaging etc?

Guest spammyspam Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Installed it manually or via a kitchen bake? Please PM me the link if it's not any trouble (assuming that's allowed!)

I have tried a few stock mail apps with no luck. I think the stock android mail app is classed as open source? If so it shouldn't be a problem.
Guest spammyspam Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) Further to this, can someone post a link to the stock android mail app? EDIT: Nevermind. I lifted the one out of the Desire CyanogenMod. Works marvellously. Edited September 24, 2010 by spammyspam
