Guest runner780 Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Hi all, i need some help with my liquid. i went to sleep with a perfectly good liquid and woke up with a bricked one! I've tried everything i could come up with.. I'm used to flashing an recovery and custom roms and evrything always went perfect. Untill now. It has .39 eclair on it and xian v1 with a custom kernel (883mhz) from phhusson in order to tether. everything was really good and relatively fast. Tried reflashing rom from acer website and acer dl tool combined with a bin... nothing happens. Cannot connect to acer website rom update utility. When i use acer dl tool it says connected amss and the flashing starts... until it wants change mode to download mode. it keeps saying not connected.. tried unplugging an replugging usb button combo etc. Screen reacts at nothing, not bootloader button combo nor recovery. only reaction i get from phone is 2 or three vibration... Has anyone els had his or knows a solution, my thanks will be humongous....
Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 If you get vibrations, then this might be a screen or backlight issue, because as far as I know, the way you know your Liquid is starting to boot up is that it vibrates once or twice. But that still doesn't explain why your computer can't recognize your Liquid...

But that still doesn't explain why your computer can't recognize your Liquid... U tried to put out Battery for some hours? Dont have any knowledge about the Liquid but maybe there is a Hardware Key Kombination for a Hard Reset.
Guest asano Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) Hi, I had a similar problem, that could be solve this morning. First, use the acer tool, 3.1. Then use the 1.100.39 bin file you ll find on the forum. Lauch the flash, it will recognize your Liquid, then after starting flashing, "disconnected" state on the flasher tool will appear. Then only you can try, but it seems very insane for the device,is to unplug it, and replug it. Keeping the flasher on, it will be able to continue to flash. At the reboot, you ll be very surprised that it shows a bad symbol on the screen, nothing else. Then reboot again the Liquid. And now it would be ok... BUT,,,IT WORKED FOR ME, MAYBE I WAS LUCKY, IT COULD BRICK MY DEVICE...So please be aware of that. Cheers :) EDIT : and to reboot, after the semi-bricked, when the phone doesn t respond, just remove the battery as well indicated few messages before. Edited August 4, 2010 by asano

Then remove the usb cable, remove the battery and leave it out for a while. put the battery back and buton combo it in bootloader state? then the flashing will continue? Think i tried that except the removal of the battery... Will try that when i get back this afternoon edit: it doesn't vibrate when you turn it on normally only with the button combo's for bootloader and recovery Thanks for the suggestions....

I had a similar issue : I powered on the liquid (vibrate but black screen), I connected it to USB and use official update from Acer (1.6 at this time cause 2.1 wasn't out) ... and it works ! I didn't have to take off the battery good luck !

Hi, maybe we misunderstood each other, but you should not remove the battery during "disconnected" message on acer tool. Just unplug, then re-plug. It doesn't boot from the beginning! Tried unplug replug method with acer dl tool and a .39 bin. It is stuck at change mode to download mode. it keeps saying not connected. even with your unplug replug method.. I'm trying to flash any rom, doesn't really matter... Liquid doesn't do anything any more...and i'd like to get it to work again... Can the battery be so empty that it doesn't charge anymore?

I did, now the screen flashes now and then white when it's connected to charger and usb cable... First time i got it from charger tried to boot, no response. Tried to get into malez recovery, that worked but when i tried to do anything in reco the screen went black... Now it's the same again. only feedback i get from liquid is 2 and three vibrations with the button combo's. screen shows nothing... Is it really bricked bricked? Guest jojohophop Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Had the same problem about 2 weeks ago. the phone vibrated but screen remained black, though i saw the backlight of the screen was working, but plugging it through USB to my computer did not work at all : the phone was not recognized. i sent it for repair and got it back last friday, working. they replaced the motherboard. if your phone is under warranty, give acer support a call, it was really fast in my case.

Did you order your liquid online or did you purchase it in a store. Because i bought it in a store and it seems much more convenient to just bring it back.

Remove battery and replace battery. 2. plug in PC-connected USB cable 3. Camera button + "<" then Power. By not connected, does the dl tool say "PROCESSING: DO NOT UNPLUG" or "RESTORATION NEEDED: YOU MAY UNPLUG YOUR PHONE"?
