Guest Shaliuno Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Hello everybody, I dont know if this topic has been raised earlier (search found nothing), but I got a question for all rom makers. Unfortunately as s WindowsMobile for three years, I always had one big problem with custom ROMs. The problem is that ROM makes create very good ROMs but unfortunately they add a lots of useless or semi-useless stuff to their ones, like additional apps, themes, some tweaks that are undocumented at all. As result you always have to decide which ROM to use, the one with tweaks you want or another one with something else, that isn present in first one. And then you try to get rid of the rest. My idea is to unite ROM makers and create modular structure for new one. Ideal is the following: Pure cleansed official latest rom from all preinstalled apps (market required apps, and some google stuff of course stay) - no tweaks, just clean rom that can be used separately Modules with tweaks and fixes like wi-fi fix, camera and so on which can be installed on demand from SD card with Malez recovery. Modules with themes, additional apps that are not present on marked. In result user gets a clean rom and can customize it in the way he wants. Because atm a lot of ppl have to dig in customs roms and find the difference to apply it in their own rom.. Comments?

Guest vache Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 A kitchen will be out with the LCR website based on the Vachounay one for those who remember. Start with a clean stock rom, and you chose what you want to add in it. For now it only supports adding applications, it's still in dev'. It'll be online as soon as possible.

Guest Shaliuno Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) you mean something like this? http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...line-kitchen/# (see second post) yeah, something like this actually as i saw, a lot of patches like wi-fi, camera etc can be installed form recovery, so you spend 10-15 minutes in recovery mode installing patches, and then backup all you made just in case with nandroid backup atm russian guys at 4pda.ru are also trying to create similar king of rom, hope the progress will be good and together with xda-devs and modaco it will be really better that some unknown roms that do some strange tweaks without any details what is done. (no offence rom makes - without you, we all gonna stick to default) added: btw, are there any info or wiki where it possible to check what files in rom affect device and tweaks??? like wi-fi settnigs here, gsm there etc..
