Guest Quipeace Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hello all, I flashed .bin .63 this morning, which all went fine, no problems at all. reflashed Xians v1 and the overclocked boot image. I can't remember whether USB was functioning properly after that, but I'm pretty sure I used it after all this. Now here's the problem, I just plugged in my liquid and didn't get the usual USB debugging enabled, the phone is charging though. I immediately booted the recovery image and tried to access USB mode from there, butt sadly no response. Has anyone been in a similar situation before? I really don't want to send my phone to Acer, knowing them that will take months... So, Thanks for reading, and for your time :), Quipeace
Guest djinferno806 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 why dont u just downgrade to 0.39 bin or .09? That should fix problems no?
Guest Quipeace Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 why dont u just downgrade to 0.39 bin or .09? That should fix problems no? I can't, because there's no USB data connection (nowhere), besides, I'm not sure whether that's actually the problem. Sending it to Acer is another thing, after all, I can't flash an official acer update I'll have to somehow erase all traces of Xians rom. Perhaps flashing a .63 dump will work? Download via the phone itself and then flash via recovery?
Guest simoneser Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yes, but you'll have a custom recovery and will not get warranty :)
Guest Quipeace Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yes, but you'll have a custom recovery and will not get warranty :) ****, any hope at all? is an update.zip capable of flashing to the recovery partition? Guess not, as that would be the active partition...
Guest simoneser Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Have you tried changing your USB cable?
Guest Borkata Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Try to see log file while plugging in usb. There might be errors to help find solution.
Guest Charlton22 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Have you tried to change the usb camble? Using another computer could help.... A damaged usb port on your liquid could also be the issue....
Guest Quipeace Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Tried it all and gave up. I booted Ubuntu to mess around with the sources a bit, and then my liquid happily played my notification ringtone. Rebooted back to Windows and it seems to be working again. I think that's the number one WTF moment in my life so far...
Guest mr.gimo Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Boot into recovery and plug your usb calble: you will have data support, just reflash a rom.

Guest Elisha82 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Did you at any point check to see if usb debugging was enabled in settings - applications?
Guest dennerjw Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Did you at any point check to see if usb debugging was enabled in settings - applications? His PC should have recognised it regardless of whether debugging was on. I have an old cable from a creative ZEN that i have, it is damaged around one of the bend points and it allows me to charge but not be recognised by my pc. Maybe your usb cable has the beginnings of a break in one of the wires? Could cause it to work sometimes then randomly not work.
Guest Rufy93 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I had the same problem. What I did was to just restart the computer. For some reason if my liquid is connected to the pc when I enter recovery, all my unsued USB ports shut down.
