Hmm, can't you delete those in the Facebook app?

I beleive I saw a option to "Delete all facebook contact information" or something like that, I've deleted that app now, due to it draining my battery (even after 1.3.1 update...

You should have read what you were syncing, there were tick boxes were you could unselect the option to create new contacts and therefore only sync information for pre-existing contacts.

What sucked about this was that there was no way to connect certain contacts to certain facebook friends.

Many of my friends don't have their numbers out and I nearly have none of their emailadresses on my phone, so there is no way for facebook to sync them automaticly...

You can fix it in settings/ Accounts and Sync/ facebook(under manage accounts) / uncheck Sync contacts and they will all disappear

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but is this on basic 2.1 or modded? As my 'sync' for facebook doesn't seem to work :/, when I click to add the account in sync settings nothing happens.. I read somewhere (I think it was another thread on this forum) that it didn't work on pulse but that may have been a while ago.

Facebook contacts sync works on my 2.1 UK official update. Same problem as Rem1x described. Do not allow this app to create new contacts! I ended up having more than 5 entries for same people. 2-3 I could possibly tolerate, but not 5!
