Flashing help

Hey Guys,

I just bought a second hand Liquid. I'm not satisfied with the standard UI, so I'm trying to load LS 2.1 on it using this guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-eclair-1-8-10/

The guide says to "Flash a recent bin". So I followed the link and downloaded OS_Acer_1.100.39.EMEA.GEN1_A21E_A

But I'm unable to actually flash it? I get this error message:

37154344.png

The seller told me that it was bought in taiwan, and instructed me to try the taiwanese rom OS_Acer_1.100.63.AAP.FET_A21E_Liquid For Taiwan Operator FET

But that didn't work either - I got the same error as before.

So how do I flash it to the latest bin so I can flash it again with LS 2.1?

THanks!

Go to the market and download LauncherPro.

Then when you press home, select LauncherPro.

Then click the Menu button. Click Preferences.

Then click Homescreen Settings. It will let you select # of screens from 1-7.

Thanks! Very helpful.

I'm now running Malez 0.5.4 and Froyo rom (http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-froyo/w/list)

One more thing - which application do you guys recommend that will let me monitor running applications and kill them to save battery? Prefrably one with a widget that I can place on my home screen and just tap to kill everything (Much like the LS rom comes with)

Ok now I've tried several ROMs:

LCR_1.8.0.1-signed

LS2.1.1_ROM

Froyo91

Xian_LiquidE_v1

I've noticed with almost all of these that my phone doesn't vibrate during incoming (sms) texts or emails? It makes a sound though. However, it does vibrate for incoming calls.

As you can imagine, no vibration for e-mail / text messages (sms) is very annoying. Is this normal behaviour?

Thanks!
