Guest elitom Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Hi all i am looking to buy a used Omnia i900 via eBay / forums and many I see for sale have been flashed to WM 6.5 / custom ROMS. Noe I am familiar with flashing HTC phones such as TyTn 2 etc but TBH my wife really likes the look and feel of the original samsung modded WM6.1 Is it possible to get this ROM of the internet and revert teh phone back to factory built ROM? thanks for any advice EliTom
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Yes, you can revert to an original ROM. No problem in that :)
Guest flyke Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) yes you can. I just did :-) I've downloaded the original software (rom) from the samsung website for XP here: Samsung original software Flashing like that didn't work: on vista using grand prix it couldn't update the phone part. From XP it said incorrect software version Solution: - disassemble original rom with i900 executer (latest version!) - assemble your disassembeled files back to an exe with i900 executer Now you have an exe file that doesn't give you the crappy 'incorrect software version' but just flashes your phone. You must simply execute this file on an xp machine (with working windows activesync) et voila :-) (i myself don't have an xp machine so i used a virtual xp machine via vmware workstation) that should work for you. for me there was an extra step: i'm from belgium and the original rom is multilanguage. when disassembeled, i had to rename one bin file (cant remember the name) to multilang.bin to include upon reassembly. the rest was all the same. Good luck ! Edited August 9, 2010 by flyke
