It's one of the cheapest, fastest and friendliest online stores i know!

I get most of my hardware from them.

Don't go for 64 - go for at least 128! I promise you you'll crying pretty quick if you go for 64 - not enough space available for cool programs, pictures of your cat (dog, whatever) and smart mp3 music...

Will do. Any joy with the Swiss update either of you? I couldn't get it to work. Then phone seemed ok. Then recieved Emblaze update and some ringtones. Should I still try and get the update?

I live in germany and (un-)fortunaly I can't download the update - but I am happy with my decertificated unupdated SPV - no need for an update...

I'll go with that option. Next step for me is decertification. I'm a newbie and a technical idiot but I see Paul has posted a full guide on how to do it so I'll give it a go.

it may be possible, that you fail in that - because of the fact, that you have a different countrysetting than the uk users. Don't worry, you don't destroy anything. But if you fail in de-certification just come back here or use pm and I can help you since I own a danish SPV with German UI and have been through the (little more tricky) process of decertification. But first try it as described!

Swiss users as us (colintivendale) do not need to follow Pauls decertification guide!!!

A simple hardreset does the job (i had it decertified without even recognizing it, as i did a hardreset on my third day)!!!

And about the update: Perhaps your phone is already updated. Compare the rom version on orange update with the one in your properties. I have it also updated and can't download the update (although it is still displayed on orange update). This first update does not affect the ability of decertification.

I had some problem running the Rom Update from December. Just checked in my properties and... guess what... I have the latest version (1.2.4.3)!!!

Stupid guys at Orange Geneva... They were unable to tell me that!!!

Looks like I am updated! In the "About " section of my phone it lists

Operator: 1.2.4.3

So I guess I am updated.

Now how to do a hard reset..........Guess there is already posts on this. I am learning to search the forum now! Any special advice for Swiss users here guys?

You have to hold the record button when you switch on the phone.

On the grey screen that follows this procedure you have to click left or right with your joypad several times to see the different menus.

Okey Dokey. I'm gonna do it now. Wish me luck. I've backed everything up so what is there to lose? Nothing.

Any ideas on how I can make it better once decertified. Ie, what should I download?

Have a look round the software section and take your pick.

The best tip for a new installation:

Put EVERYTHING on the sdcard. Put NOTHING in the phone memory.

This will speed up your phone significantly.
