the sync icon doesnt go away...

hi jus got a quick question here.

i installed the MODACO r7 rom n everything seems work fine.

but i found that the sync icon on the top of the screen doesent go away, i check the account n sync option n nothing is being synced...

anyone has the same problem or theres something wrong with the rom or i did something wrong with it?

i have the same "problem" but I don't mind this... :)

Ah, I removed FriendStream too and also having the sync icon stuck there. Will give that a try.

Putting friendstream back in didn't work for me, it seemed to be a google sync problem, so my only workaround is to cancel the sync, then sync all. It syncs normally and the icon disappears as soon as it's finished

Tried rebaking with Friend Stream included, and it's been running for the last few hours with no sync icon issues for me.

Same issue for me! :) Going in sync options shows "cancel sync" button as a sync is actually in progress. I'll try flashing including FS...

I've been having this problem too, but can't remember what options i chose when baking the R7 ROM.

However, i have noticed that i have Facebook 1.3.1

Also when i take a picture, i get the option to upload to Facebook or Facebook for HTC Facebook.....but only one of these shows in the sync menu.

AND

both show up in the applications part of settings, but only one shows up when you press the little arrow to see all programs.

When you come across problems like this it would be helpful if you could do a Logcat and paste the output on pastebin etc.

Please excuse my noob question, How do i do it?

One other thing that may have caused it, i have Paid Titanium installed, and i'm wondering if even though i exclude Facebook in the kitchen whether Titanium re-installs it when i choose to restore after installing another custom ROM, therefore it doesn't show up in the sync options?

Slightly OT. In app list you'll see only Facebook app and not Facebook for HTC that's HTC - Facebook sync feature.

Titanium will not cause any issue to our sync options. Don't worry :)

You can copy (and paste) logcat using "adb logcat" command or aLogcat app http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...ogcat-xwjq.aspx

Reflashed using rebaked rom with Friend Stream included. No more issue! :D

Yeah, if you logcat, you will notice that the system is always trying to spawn the friendstream sync service which will fail miserably when the application itself is not included.

So the correct method would be to just go forth and purge the automatic calling of the friendstream sync service.

Same for me here, installation of FS resolve the problem of the sync of all my Gmail account being blocked because of FB sync.

It should be mention in the kitchen that FS is required for FB to sync, it was so annoying that I was ready to move to another ROM until I found this tread :lol:
