Guest theInquisitor Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Hello world, Allthough I've enabled data connectivity (over the cell network) on my Pulse (running the Swedish Tre 2.1 ROM), each time when it disconnects from a WiFi-network it keeps asking whether to continue data usage. That's very disturbing, because the Pulse automatically disconnects from WiFi after a while of inactivity. Then you are left without internet connectivity and Google Talk and Google Latitude stop working, unless you confirm continuation of data usage. Is it possible to disable these confirmation requests? I'd like my Pulse to establish a data session over 2G/3G without confirmation after it has been disconnected from WiFi. Alternatively, is it possible to disable the automatic disconnection from WiFi? My Motorola Milestone will stay on WiFi permanently once connected, however the Milestone supports a mode my router lists as "WMM powersave", while the Pulse doesn't seem to support such energy saving mode probably rendering it unsuitable for permanent WiFi-connections. regards, Inquisitor Edited August 8, 2010 by theInquisitor

I don't really remeber where but you can do this by changing one of the .rc files - search through forum for 3g confirmation or similar (I tried but got to the wall with search flood control :)). Did you try hitting Menu key while in WiFi settings? You'll see an Advanced option and there you can determine how you want the WiFi to behave when phone locks. I have it on "always on" and it doesn't affect battery life at all.
Guest Azurren Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) To disable the message completely just install the FLB mod (Tre version not UK) :) http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...om-with-tweaks/ Guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...e-owners-guide/ Edited August 8, 2010 by Azurren
Guest theInquisitor Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) Thanks for your replies, guys! I don't really remeber where but you can do this by changing one of the .rc files - search through forum for 3g confirmation or similar (I tried but got to the wall with search flood control :)).I couldn't find anything through the board search either (allthough my requests were not refused), but I think I'll follow Azurren's advice to switch to FLB, which will solve my issue. Did you try hitting Menu key while in WiFi settings? You'll see an Advanced option and there you can determine how you want the WiFi to behave when phone locks. I thought permanent WiFi-connectivity was probably not supported due to issues with power consumption. Edited August 8, 2010 by theInquisitor
Guest naniteboy Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Thanks. I hadn't discovered those advanced options yet. Settings --> Wireless & Network settings --> WiFii settings /wifi must be turned on/ --> [Menu] --> Advanced --> WiFi sleep policy --> Never That's it!
