Guest David_P Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi everyone, I am running Paul's stock 2.2 based on the OTA. I am using the top link (with radio and still odexed) from the following post: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...h-radio-deodex/ I wonder if someone can drop me a hint on how to resolve the following issue. I haven't installed huge amount of apps and where possible have used the standard froyo A2SD to have them on the SD card, however, I am still running a little low on /system storage as shown below. How can I resolve this? Screenshot of my storage attached. Thanks David

Guest David_P Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi Diggedy, I am using the standard A2SD (not done any partitioning of the SD Card or installed A2SD+ or anything). How can I easily export a list of apps installed? Is there a clever adb shell command or something I can do rather than taking a load of screenshots? Thanks David
Guest David_P Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi Again, Ok I have gone to Settings > Applications > Manager Applications and then to the ALL tab and typed out the list of everything (please see attached .txt file) I have been through the list and where possible, installed everything to the SD card unless it includes a Widget. Regards DavidAppList.txt
Guest theblueraja Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Same issue here actually, Paul's R7 with A2SD, all my apps are getting installed to the phone and NOT the SD card, i only have 3 apps (small ones) on the SD card, Google Earth for example always installs to the phone (i've uninstalled and reinstalled to check). Any ideas?
Guest venturerider Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) System storage is the /system mount point. Its contents do not change after initial installation, so it doesn't matter how full it is unless you plan on using "adb push" to put more stuff in there. The /data mount point is the one where data and apps go. It's the one that needs to have some free space for growth, not /system. In your case, it is pretty full because you installed an odexed ROM. That means you have a bunch of .odex files under /system instead of a bunch of .dex files under /data/dalvik_cache. There is a big advantage there because that frees up a lot of /data space and you can install more apps (in /data) without having to use A2SD. Me, I prefer odexed for just that reason: No need for A2SD. If I was running a deodexed ROM, I'd have to use A2SD. NOTE: You cannot apply themes to odexed ROMs. That is the only drawback I can think of. Bottom line: Don't worry about it. You're fine. /system in not going to run out of space any time soon. Well my system storage did change after inital installation, and kept changing throughout. I'm at 0.97 MB free of 276 MB total now. Quick system info shows SD card storage, A2SD storage, internal storage, system storage and system cache. A2SD storage and internal storage show the same amouns. So, I'm a bit confused. EDIT: I just saw that I posted in the wrong thread/forum as I have international Galaxy S and stock ROM. But nevertheless my confusion still remains. :D Edited January 9, 2011 by Guest
