Huawei keep denying it's their responsibility to release the kernel source, they do however have a compliance officer, I've emailed her but had no response. I suggest everyone emails her..

Note that in their own forum they posted the 1.5 QMR source along with a copy of the license agreement that says they have to release the source!

Try to send the email in Chinese. It will probably be replied to quicker.

Lets pretend we are a new operator from uhm... Pakistan, and we want to sell this phone :)

But the government wants to modify the firmware first, to make it tap-proof, and therefore need the kernel source :D

Best regards,

BB

Yeah sure, you can have one if you want.

Lets just say that we need 100 phones for testing, to find every single bug :)

Do you think we could ask for enough to be able to sell them all and then use the money to buy everone in this forum evo 4gs (or another high end phone) and then say we broke them all trying to edit the kernel and then stop comunicating with them =)

Wow, I doubt Huawei could produce enough phones for us to be able to earn enough money to buy every forum member an Evo 4G, until the Evo 4G is totally outdated, and the Evo 6G is released :)

Hmm

How many members do we have?

We'd have to sell ~3 Pulses for every forum member to be able to buy an N1 or Desire for each of them.

Couldnt you as a moderator find everyone thats commented over x times on the pulse forum and then give them one. I dont think theres a wa to find out everyone that really owns a pulse as their primary phone and isnt just taking advantage of us taking advantage of hauwei

Lets make it this way, every Pulse member that wants a N1 or desire has to reply to this thread. We just count them and ... vua la :)

That sounds good. Whos going to talk to hauwei as a pakistani mobile operator and ask for n x 3 pulses for "development purposes". Should we open a secret swiss bank account to put the money from the pulses in. Also, we could send back out used pulses so it doesnt look so suspicious =)

Hmmm I think now you mentioned it opening up a "secret" swiss bank account isn't possible anymore :D

Yes we'll need a Pakistani :)

Ok how about just a swiss bank account then?

Wouldnt it be easier to use a country thats more european that doesnt already have an operator stocking it?

Better idea on how to get nexus ones.

We all create apps and then put them on the market.

We then all create multiple google accounts and download eachothers apps and give 5 stars. We can also suggest this idea in the other phones forums.

Then when each "developer" reaches 5000 downloads and an average of 3.5 stars or better they get a nexus one.

Then anyone who wants a nexus one can get one fairly easily without scamming hauwei =)

I just want a decent android phone, but I dont have any money.

Its annoying caus I was that close to getting a desire on a £15 a month contract (Unlimited internet and texts and 100 mins) paying just £160 for the phone, but then my parents decided I wasnt allowed a contract even though I can afford it, so I ended up with a pulse. =(

You think you got bad luck?

I could have got a Desire with my current contract ... for 120 bucks.

You know how much I paid for my Pulse? 100 bucks!!!

:)
