htc desire 2.2 i need help please

I've upgraded my desire officially through WiFi (2.2) , and I noticed how bad it is.

It's nothing like nexus,nexus has a nicer interface especially in the app menu if u understand what I mean.also It lacks rotation in home screen.

However my problem is the flash ,it doesn't seem enabled cuz I tried to browse YouTube but It's the Same as before the upgrade.

Another issue is the root, is there any possibility to root 2.2 desire so I can install another Rom.

Finally, my phone has become laggy lately , I think It's because of the upgrade.

Yeah you need to downgrade the HBOOT before you can root. Loads of guides about how to do it.
