Guest penetal Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) I followed the guid and are trying to enable usb debugging but I cant get it done. Im starting to loose my cool since the phone is fairly new. I had froyo before i started this guide if that matters. HTC Desire... I have tryed the way thats mentioned here, and the Alternative one. But since I cant see anything on my now black screen i cant get it done right. is there any way i can undo what I did or change so i can see my screen with a thing that suports the slcd (i assume this is the problem). Also I am fairly sure I am on the home screen as when I hold near the top (after unlocking the screen) it vibrates indicating Im "moving" the clock widget. So can you please help me undo what I did, or maybe make a youtube vid of how to enable debugging so I can see how you do it since I cant get it right. A rather fast response would be loved!!!! Many Thanks First of all. Big thanks to: teppic74 and Myshkinbob Lets get down to business: How to create a GoldCard 1. Guest bpivk Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 If you have USB debugging on try this method. You don't get a black screen and it's really simple. I have rooted my phone via this method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256

Guest EddyOS Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 OR just wait for the new unrEVOked - it roots everything up to HBOOT 0.93 (did mine the other day - AMOLED screen, mind but the HBOOT is the same)
Guest penetal Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Oh its fine at long last it worked tho I almost flushed my phone 100 times and i almost blew up the earth from frustration I got it right there is a problem here I think: Wait 15 secs - alternate steps for enabling USB debugging Press 'Menu' button Down x1, right x3, press joystick x1 Down x10, joystick press x1 Down x4, press joystick x1 Down x1, press joystick x2 (it should make a noise when connecting USB cable now) this seem to be wrong. so it was good we have the alternate way: 1. Wait a couple of minutes (so the display would switch off normally). 2. Press power once, and swipe down the screen. 3. Press menu. Right 4-5 times, down 2 times (Now at bottom right of screen), press. (now in settings). 4. Swipe up on the screen to scroll down to the bottom. 5. Down one, press. Now (hopefully) in Applications.( No good ) 6. Down 5-6 times, press. (Now at bottom screen) 7. Up a few times, press. (Now at top of screen) 8. Press once more to confirm debugging. If it doesn't work, press back 5-6 times and try again, though you can skips steps 1 and 2 if you do it straight away. (I tried simulating this a couple of times by covering the screen so I couldn't see, and it worked each time) edit: step 5 isn't completely reliable. It may be better to do step 4 and then try to press the part of the screen where the option is, near the top just below the + of the vol button. A last couple of notes, *If you like me barly ever used the optic scroll, that's what the "down" "right" "press" etc is. *I like to have the USB cable in cus then it would make a sound when I finnaly got the Debug on, but idk if this is always the case. *Using the touch insted of step 4-5 is the big life saver. *If you use the touch then you can, and should Really over do the scrolling (to make sure you are at the top and the botom or where ever you need to be, following the alternate guide it will work. Anyways thanks alot for your help, and a special thanks to aaaloha tho I never took ur skype offer its extremly nice of you not everyone would do that. :P
