Guest Holograph Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Hi! I just installed the Apps2SD app, but once I rebooted in Android, I don't see anything related to A2SD, and all Apps are still installed on my phone memory. I did: 1) Boot into recovery mode 2) Wipe my phone memory 3) I went to MS-USB and I formatted my SD-Card in Fat/32 4) I went to the partition menu in the recovery mode, and I set the SWAP memory to 0 MB, and the EXT to 512 MB 5) I selected "SD: ext2 to ext3", and I upgraded ext2 to ext3 6) I installed the FLB-Mod (v1.31) zip on my device 7) I installed A2SD-2.7 zip on my device 8) I rebooted my device 9) Once I configured my device I went to the market, and I installed an app, but it wasn't moved to my SD-card. 10) Thus I checked the "settings" app, and I couldn't find anything related to A2SD. Did I do something wrong?
Guest Daz555 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) You do not install A2SD with FLB mods. A2SD is enabled by default and will work as soon as you partition the SD card correctly. Upgrade from EXT2 to EXT3 is not required - some suggest it causes issues. You might have knackered A2SD by installing it manually. Try wiping and reflashing and see how you get on. Having said all that - how do you know it is not working? To confirm A2Sd is working all you need to do is check the Available Space under Settings > SD Card & Storage. Install a couple of large apps and then check it again - if the free memory only goes down a fraction of the expected size then you know A2SD is working. You can also do a check of current A2SD config by opening the terminal emulator and typing: su a2sd check If free space still becomes a problem you can free up some more by moving Dalvik cache to SD as well. Guest Holograph Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I used that command, and it gives me alot of output, so I think it is enabled. But can I repartition my SD-card to use SWAP memory?
Guest DanWilson Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I used that command, and it gives me alot of output, so I think it is enabled. But can I repartition my SD-card to use SWAP memory? Nope. Not yet anyway. We need to get the kernel source from T-Mobile to get SWAP. So just wait.
