Guest niko1986 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) I'm a pretty avid reader of sites like lifehacker and ghacks. Since Android has been gaining more and more users, the choice of apps is now growing rapidly. But the market is a pain in the arse to navigate; especially without proper filtering tools, and it gets worse everyday with the addition of more and more junk apps. The Homescreen thread is a great place to see what widgets others use. I hope this thread might expand beyond just widgets to any type of app people use. I'll try to record what apps people post about on this first post, and somehow organise them. And if people post following roughly this sort of template. App Name Free or Paid? Market QR code Either link an image from androlib or appbrain Or generate your own at kaywa if the app isn't available on the market. Pictures or Videos Description A to E Android2Cloud - Push links from phone to Chrome Benchmark - Benchmarking Tool F to J Jorte - Google Calendar and Tasks based organiser K to O KeePassDroid - Password Management Tool P to T 3G Watchdog - Monitor 3G data useage QuickSettings - Notification bar based settings screen T to Z VLC Remote - Remotely control VLC Media Player Edited August 12, 2010 by niko1986
Guest niko1986 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) Android2Cloud Free Market App QR code: Chrome extension QR code: This app does the reverse of Chrome users can do with a Froyo enabled phone. Instead of pushing a website link from Chrome to your Froyo phone, using Android2Cloud you can push a link from your phone to Chrome but you DON'T need Froyo :D The video pretty much shows it all, but what it doesn't make clear is that you don't need Chrome to be open when you send the link. So perhaps on the train you can't be bothered to read that long tech article you push it to the cloud and when you open Chrome at home the page opens straight up. The major downside is that it only handles one link at a time and you need a seperate Chrome extension, also if you don't use Chrome your stuck :D Its a niche app but hopefully can be developed further.
