Rom Update HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Currently Im using MoDoCO Custom Rom r5 for the HTC Desire at the momment and Im not sure about updating the rom its self is working well with only a few problems. What I want to know is should I update yet or wait. Im reading about r6/r7/r8 and I can see there are kitchens avaible to build new roms. Should I try these or just wait till the rom is finished with all the problems sorted. I dont really want to update and have to reinstall all my apps and setting again over and over please help.

yes. the current version (r8) will be a bit quicker. (my current Quadrant benchmark with r8 is 1185).

I did a complete wipe and reinstalled those apps that needed logins (I have had some issues trying to restore account-settings and scenes) and restored the rest from titanium backup and have had no real problems.

obviously ymmv and if you're happy with your current setup....

If you decide to update you "should" use rom manager or nandroid and backup your current rom in case something goes pearshaped or you just dont like the newer version.
