Welcome to 'Paul's App of the Day', where I pick one of my favourite apps as featured app of the day! Today's app is...

Grooveshark

What they say

Grooveshark gives you access to millions of songs, streamed right to your phone. Search for the songs you want, save playlists, and Favorite the tunes you love. The app requires a $3/month vip subscription for full access, but includes a hassle-free trial.

What we say

Want to listen to a particular track? You'll almost certainly find it here. Yes, you'll need the paid VIP ($3/month / $30/year - details) subscription, but this has other cool features too. :D

Also check out the more expensive but better quality Spotify.

Suggested improvements for the next version

There are too many duplicates for each track in the Grooveshark library currently, this could do with being improved.

I keep getting errors when using this on my Desire running R8. Is anyone else experiencing problems? There are a a couple of comments in the market saying it does not play nice with Froyo.

Yeah, I get "unknown mediaplayer error" all the time on 3G. Over WiFi, it manages to play some tracks, but that's no use to me in my car.

working great here on my acer liquid with froyo.

chipyy: for in your car, there's always an offline option where you can download songs onto your (micro)SD

it's been my "default" media player for a while now using this option to have my entire music library available without the need of 3G/wifi

i also like the 4x1 widget they included, much more space-effective than the 4x1 widget for the stock music app(wider buttons, and more space for current track titles because it's above the buttons instead of next to them)
