This is awesome fun when you're with friends! Shazam is cool, but I love the way Soundhound can identify songs even if you sing or hum the tune. Brilliant! :D The lyrics feature is nice too.

I switched from Shazam to Soundhound a couple of months ago and it's a fantastic app. I especially like the lyrics and Youtube integration.

the humming thing doesn't really work, blimey it didn't recognise the Yellow Submarine for crying out loud! lol Or any Tom Jones!! Leave alone lesser known current pop efforts.

And yes i do know how to hum Tom Jones...I'm Welsh! lol

That is a bug in kies, it doesn't like the long filenames that soundhog uses.

Hi guys,

I am an engineer from SoundHound and I build our Android app.

First of all, thanks Paul for making us your app of the day!

Just wanted to drop a quick note about the Samsung Kies issue mentioned here. Kilack is right - it is a problem due to the long filenames, or to be more specific in our case, long filenames without file extensions.

In our recent update to SoundHound, we fixed this issue so please update to the latest version on the Android Market and try the app again.
