Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) My Pulses touchscreen has been playing up for a while, occasionally not responding or whatever, requiring a reboot to fix it. Now - it doesn't work at all, reboots, wipes, reflashes of FLB or even Tre! My real question is do you like cheese? what's wrong and how do I fix it? All that has happened recently is I installed Epic's button mod, and dropped it on Friday night (the screen worked after the drop). I don't blame it on epic - everyone else who installed is fine, just the dropping it has made me think I'm hungry maybe thats it. Is the Pulse gone for good? Do I need a new phone? (Maybe it's a sign from God - I was looking at the price of HTC Hero's, and I found one that said all offers considered. I text the guy offering £1, not from the Pulse though :D) :D Help? ;) Edited August 12, 2010 by DanWilson
Guest Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Does anyone here dislike cheese? Seriously?

Guest whackster Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Go back to 1.5, that should fix touchscreen problems :D
Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Try melting the cheese and then coating the screen in it. It might help =) Lol. I guess there are no serious comments? Might try to get a Hero if I fail at fixing this. Although I'll stay here so much, I'll end up asking Hero questions here. :D
Guest Spoke Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Try melting the cheese and then coating the screen in it. It might help =) Is the cheese resistive or capacative? :D
Guest Epic-Emodude Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Is the cheese resistive or capacative? :D Both :D
Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) Sigh - it won't boot into recovery for me to mount the SD card - stuck on Huawei screen... :D Do you think I could flash the recovery image as the boot image? Meaning that it'd need to boot into recovery - since it freezes when I try to boot it. Edited August 12, 2010 by DanWilson
Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Side note - Even after numerous flashes and stuff, when I turn the phone on, after the initial flash screen and before the first Android screen, there are dots all around the screen - red, yellow, blue and green. It reminds me of when you turn on the emulator, but I've not used it in ages so I might be wrong...
Guest BigBearMDC Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 That's odd :D You can't get another phone! We need you here!!! ;) I think your Pulse is screwed, sorry. I'm having the same problems with my second Pulse, and I couldn't manage to solve it. It just freezes on the T-Mobile screen (the first one - Huawei screen for you). I Think sending it in is the only solution :D But I love the cheese thing :D Best regards, BB
Guest Simon O Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Dan is your pulse still under it's 1year warranty?

(Damn the amount of times I've said that in the past hour) The thing is though, it only freezes on the Huawei screen if I try to boot into recovery. It's fine if I leave it to boot to Android. Alas, I wouldn't be able to send it in without my mum and dad literally screaming at me. They told me from before I got it, "Don't mess with it, don't flash things to it" and so on. I rooted it after about 4 days, and flashed after about a fortnight (My birthday!). Meh. I hate cheese, but at least some people can lol while I worry :D @Flib - Yes it is. It's impossible not to be - it came out in November. :D

Try repacking your recovery ramdisk with your boot.img kernel :D Haha, I always forget you're just 13 :D Parents... ;) Best regards, BB

Guest Simon O Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Are you high? Unpack and repack a ramdisk. Lulz. Forget as you might, it doesn't make it go away... Get it fixed by T-Mobile. If the parents tell you off then blame it on the BoBo :D don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the moonlight, don't blame it on a good time, blame it on the BoBo :D

Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Could it be the connections to the touchscreen? Like the wire? Cos maybe when I dropped it it became loose, and after time it came right out? Or is it welded on?
Guest BigBearMDC Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Could it be the connections to the touchscreen? Like the wire? Cos maybe when I dropped it it became loose, and after time it came right out? Or is it welded on? Possible. One of 999999^(99999^99999) possibilities ... So (999999^(99999^99999)) - 1 to check :D

If you so much as touch one of the screws then you'll lose your warranty.
Guest krfan Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 If all fails, i'd say you can try your warranty :D Unlike mine, a parallel import, and that means it's literally a brick if my Pulse goes really into bad shape. Was just wonderin', can the Pulse (or any other phones for that matter) like, say, die for good, after much altering with the internal system (countless flashings, upgrading and downgrading ROMs etc..)?
Guest DanWilson Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) Possible. One of 999999^(99999^99999) possibilities ... So (999999^(99999^99999)) - 1 to check :D My Ubuntu calculator says the answer to "999999^(99999^99999)" is 1. So we've found the right answer. Yipee! thats what the t-mobile engineers are for. If you so much as touch one of the screws then you'll lose your warranty. *Holds finger back, puts battery cover back on. Walks away* Poll details - It's so far a split decision. Half (+1) likes cheese. The rest don't know what cheese is. :D Edited August 12, 2010 by DanWilson

Guest Epic-Emodude Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 That could explain a lot if they used a welding torch instead of a soldering iron :D Also explains why we dont have multi touch.

Enjoy the forum without me, bla bla. And I wasn't thinking, OK. :D *Looks at Epic's post* Sigh. At least that's one mystery solved... Edited August 12, 2010 by DanWilson
