Thought I'd dig out the Pulse again and finally got it to sync with my main Windows 7 pc.

Now while the contacts sync ok, or appear to without checking in too deep, the calender is completely useless.

Basically where I do a sixteen day rotating shift of four days four off then nights and four off again etc. Syncing my calender from Outlook the Pulse now thinks I am on a night shift every single day.

So is there a free calender sync application out there that actually works? this pc syite application and the way the Pulse handles Outlook make the phone unusable as am everyday device.

And syncing via google is not an option as I have zero faith in Gmail etc. Google ok as a search engine but I would never trust them with anything else.

Interesting, no faith in Google but you use Android phone wich has hard connections to all afore-mentioned Google services?

And answer to your question - I don't know any usable sync tool for calendar - except Google Calendar Sync (here)

Seeing as you need a google account to use the phone for most things just use google calendar on your pc?

Why change from a calender format I have used for years to to something online which I don't?

The biggest issue is why it cannot handle a simple rotating 16day shift pattern? something Outlook has done since day dot.

At this rate I'll be switching to Blackberry (shudders) unless WP7 brings out something spectacular.

Only way I have figured out to do this is via a Google account - I sync Outlook with Google and my phone, but this clearly doesn't address your privacy concerns!
