Few Questions with Rooting & Custom FW

Hi troops.

Just a few questions.

The wife isnt getting on with the Desire so im going to swap my iphone for it. I have been looking and using Unrev0vked on it.

The thing is i dont quiet understand with where i stand once i root and apply a new FW to the deivce with is being branded to Orange. I have read that people have had to buy unlock codes? why would my phone become locked?

Where can i get a code from, after a quick scan on Fleabay i couldnt find any decent sellers of a code, can some one recommend me one?

If you flash a Froyo ROM you won't need an unlock code... I used Unrevoked and flashed the rooted 2.2 ROM that Paul posted up and no problems...

The problem was with the 2.1 OTA update and its accompanying Radio...
