Samsung pushing out JM1 via Kies (UK?)

Connected up my (UK origin JF3) SGS to Kies tonight and was offered an upgrade to JM1. Do I need to backup first? And I have done the 'very fast' lag fix, do I need to undo this first?

If you're on a custom ROM, personally I would wait. I think you would need to undo any lag fix if you wanted to try it, definitely I would back things up.

I know it will remove root access if you have it, but it's easy enough to apply again.
