Is there an archive of original samsung roms?

Now that the pointless samsung have seen fit to close all ROM download support for the omnia I was wondering if there was a rom archive somewhere?

I logged onto samsung's omnia site, tried to download the latest and greatest UK rom which although woefully out of date, would give me a backup if a cooked rom was not to standard, and I get diverted to the Samsung Mexico site dead link page.

Typical samsung. :D

Alternatively if anyone can suggest what in their mind is a 'pure' rom that does not try to do anything clever other than work well and quickly i'd appreciate it.

I've had the luxury of an iphone over the last few weeks, and I dont want to upgrage my phone till the W7p offerings are out, and in truth i'd forgotten just how painful this handset could be.

thanks to all.

I don't mind the 6.5 roms, but on all of them I suffer from poor or no signal strength.

However when I flash to an original samsung rom, it says that the usb port cannot be initialised with a countdown of tries from 25 to 0 !

My screen on the phone then shows a computer to phone connection with a yellow warning triangle!?

Does anyone know what this is?, I have downloaded and installed the samsung modem updater but that doesn't seem to do alot.

If I could sort out the poor signal issue, I would prefer to use the cooked 6.5 roms, but what's the point if you can do everything apart from make and recieve calls!

it means that when you flashed it, it didnt fully complete (if i remember right).

Ensure you have the correct Samsung drivers......and reflash. The USB port bit isa when it is trying to flash the Phone part....

Ensure you have all the needed drivers...Do you know how to dismantle original ROM to make .exe ROM? I preferred that method, it is easier and quicker!

Take care

Signal has (almost) NOTHING to do with the roms, customs or original, bro! A rom is the PDA's system/software. The PHONE PART, is the signal/Wi-Fi/GPS' software!

So, your REAL problem is the phone part.

Just replace your current phone part with another one (no matter what!) and you'll see great difference - NOT always possitive, of course!

Oh I see! so how do you go about replacing the phone part, and are there any you can recommend?

Also, I notice the 6.5 roms do the handy job of getting all of your network providers config data for internet etc, but 6.1 does not.

Is there any way to get this on 6.1 - i'm on vodafone UK.
