facebook and 2.1 on the Dell!

Ok,

Can someone please tell me how to link facebook so it sync's with contacts, for some reason I can't add it as a account!!!!

Is this a bug?

Have you tried Logging in using accounts and sync in main settings?

also update fb till the latest in marketplace, it works much better

I have, strange that my googlemail account will not sync either (says its down)..... It has a 'add account' function but will not allow me to add my facebook account.

have you updated facebook?

in accounts and sync my facebook account doesn't show, but it did sync as all my facebook contacts appeared..

I have the same problem on the US at&t streak after updating to 2.1. I tried a lot of things, even deleting the system facebook using root explorer and then installing the latest version from the market. but whatever I do, when I try to add a facebook acct through accounts and sync, it does not show up and nothing gets synced. any ideas? twitter does not sync either even though twitter account shows up in the accounts and sync page!

Same here fb contacts and twitter wont sync. Guess we might have to wait for official 2.1

Lot of people appears to have this issue in different custom 2.1 roms if you search on internet...

Installed version on Dell Streak 2.1 : 1.2.1

Update proposed by Android Market: 1.3.2

All even if erasing applications data does not sync anymore... saw that lot of workaround exists: modifying build.prop phone type/version (but i suppose more that it changes the version downloaded from the market), trying fiew one like, removing update, clear data, reboot, try: does not work with the original one provided on the rom (1.2.1), disconnected/logoff, erased data in the application settings of android, installed the proposed update from android market, same issue !

Even if you click on the back after having entered your login when you arrived to the info screen (so by doing this it goes on the sync settings), & force the sync all contacts in the facebook app !!!!

Really strange !

Had previously an Acer Liquid with Eclair 2.1 & its facebook sync was working well .... tried to get its apk & to install it on the dell streak but was not able :D
