Broken device after flash boot image!

Hi Everyone!

I'm in a hurry... I have a Huawei U8220, but not T-Mobile branded. I bought it in china unlocked.

The android version is 1.5

Here is some info from bootloader mode.

USB FastBoot: V0.5

Build Date: Apr 25 2010, 07:12:52

Serial Number: UNKNOW

The thing is: I tried to root it so I followed the instructions from here: http://bit.ly/9Tg7Yn

I did it with my Arch Linux.

I put my device in bootloader mode and then I flashed the boot image with your script. In the blue screen, I read it was done so I unplugged it and when I turned it on in normal mode, it shows the android splash image, but it still there, and nothing happen. A pretty frozen splash screen.

I think the problem is mainly because the pulse.superboot.img you provided is not exactly for my device (remember is not T-Mobile), so it can't find the way to boot. (make me remember to bad mkinitcpio images).

Fortunately, I have another one (because I bought 2) so I was thinking on copy the boot image from the healthy one and then flash that image in the broken one, using

$ ./fastboot-linux flash boot (the extracted image).

Am I in the right way? If so... Can you tell me how can I get the boot image from the new cell, so I can put it in the broken?

If I'm not right, tell me how I should proceed. I'm needing the cell, so your help would be apreciated

Thanks in advance, Tomas.

Solved!!

What have I done?

I've goggled my software version which is: U8220V100R001C00B275SP01. I end up in a Modaco post pointing to a chinese version of huaweidevice.com. In there, I could download the entire ROM. I've unzipped it and I've found a file named UPDATA.APP. I didn't know how to unpack it but I've found a script in pearl here that can do that. Then I've found 2 files rounding 2 MB. I could flash them. One was kind of a recovery system. The other one was the one I were looking for. So the phone booted normally.

I hope I can help others.

Best Regards!!
