1.6 keyboard

Anyone dislike the keyboard that comes with the 2.1 beta rom?

strange hankerings and misty eyed nostalgia for the one with the numerical keypad?

here you go ...

please rename it by deleting the .txt off the end (modaco wont upload .apk) before using it !

I guess you need to be root but I don't know to install it .. its working fine here on my rooted eclair

after a reboot I'm getting FC with this keyboard..

Something is missing, it comes up right but on keypress the key lights up then the keyboard crashes. :D

how did you actually install this? just run the apk? and uninstall existing softkeyboard?

without having 1.6 on my streak I can't see what lib is missing, but I presume its something like...

libjni_latinime.so in /system/lib can anyone on 1.6 see if its there and grab it?

im still pretty new to android so excuse my incompetence :D, i did try re-installing 1.6 stock image but it got half way through and says that i am up to date lol. Not sure how to load the old 1.6 back on using a stock image. Maybe i will try clockwork recover and the modaco R1.

Will grab those files when i do.

There isn't a libjni_latinime.so but there's a libjni_pinyinime, just downloaded MCR R1 and unzipped it to have a look. Not had a chance to see if that works yet.

mmm pinyin is likely to be Chinese specific

crashes also when tapping key, did manage to squeeze out 1 character tho lol

captured the event log if anyone is clever enough to shed some light on why it crashes
