Guest fards Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 I think this may solve a couple of other issues as well.. . I cleared the Dalvik cache. I havent stock clockwork recovery on, so I did this manually. as ROOT in a terminal (either on the streak, I use better terminal emulator, or using adb shell from your PC) su cd data/dalvik-cache rm * exit reboot the streak it'll take a while to set up on boot (like 1st time) then everything works fine..
Guest wgizmo Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 could you write with more info how to do it step by step please?
Guest Shauneh Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) Download a terminal app fards said use better terminal emulator. When it loads type in the commands exactly like he said. All the information is there. -- Shauneh Edited August 13, 2010 by Shauneh
Guest fards Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) could you write with more info how to do it step by step please? as Ive said before if youre going to mess about with prerelease software then read a bit more before you start... turn your streak on (The power button is at the top on the right hand side ) your right hand is the one that doesnt make an L shape when you hold it up in front of you... I am being too basic here? :D two choices.. go to the market type in terminal download one (I bought "Better terminal emulator") but you dont need to as long as its not messed up you should be good.. Root your streak using the one click root http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...one-click-root/ do it twice, as it probably wont work first time. open the terminal app you got from the market type in exactly what I wrote in the box, at the end of every line press enter/done/return, what ever it is on your keypad. after typing exit press the power button till it turns off.. when turned off turn it back on again.. wait wait some more still waiting? time for a bad joke.. why did the camel cross the road? because it did... my son thought that one up... now its loaded try the market.. ps I Think theres a basic terminal emulator in the firmware, but it must have been poor to make me want to buy one... Guest CharlieBareham Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Downloads still not working. This is really weird.
Guest Warpedflash Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Downloads still not working. This is really weird. Change your @googlemail.com account to a @gmail.com account and your problem will be fixed! just log onto googlemail and there is a link to do this... for some reason it fixes the problems...

I signed in as a gmail account and it automatically shows my address as googlemail, this wasn't an issue on the old firmware, so why is it an issue with this update? If the guy above fixed the problem perhaps you could remember where this link is? Cheers!

I signed in with a googlemail address and it shows as gmail everywhere on the streak...
Guest drewesq Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 yes, now ok. many thanks :D OK, I have fixed the issue by doing something pretty basic and obvious. Factory reset your phone - Settings>privacy>factory reset you will lose all data but keep the OS update, meanwhile create a new gmail account, use your new gmail account when setting up your phone. This will have to be done over 3g or HSPDA NOT YOUR WIFI link (no idea why that makes a difference). Then you will be able to use the market again, and download the all important gmaps updtae! Ciao 4 Now!

Guest andycap Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 To everyone that is still having problems with Market place. If you have a @googlemail.com account you will need to go to your google mail page, select SETTINGS from top right, then select ACCOUNTS AND IMPORT. Look for SEND MAIL AS and at the end of your email address you should see SWITCH TO @GMAIL.COM? select this and confirm on the next screen. You now need to do a factory reset on your Android device and then setup your google with [email protected] and you should now be able to download from the Market and all your previous purchases and downloads will be in the download section. This is the only thing that worked for me. Give it a try, it might help you as well. Andy.
Guest d1kk1e Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I had similar problems, I'm sure its related to the googlemail/gmail switch google are doing in the UK, it's not an issue specific to the streak. I don't know exactly how I fixed it - just did a combination of switching gmail<->googlemail and factory resetting. Was a pain but I got there within 20 mins. Thanks for everyone who posted their findings here.
Guest payneardo Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) Has anybody got the fix working ?? I have tried the fingerprint fix for the nexus one and still missing loads of apps, such as google earth, calltrack.. I can see Paid apps so I guess it is just some protected apps ?? I have also cleared the dalvik-cache as well I have messed about with market enabler as well and that doesn't seem to make any difference. Just wanted to know if anybody has got the market working fully and if so, How ?? Cheers Payneardo Edited August 20, 2010 by payneardo

Guest Shauneh Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Well this flipped my displays X and Y axis after I installed this. It messed up the graphics to the point where things would be white until they moved, and also my display (after the 3rd reboot) decided to completely display upside down. I then removed the 'Fix' but as you might know yourself, theres no remove option, you can only remove the installer. Anyone who uses Eris Market Fix be wary. Thanks, Shauneh
Guest EZ44 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Eris Market Fix installed fine for me but doesn't work as I still can't find the apps I'm looking for. So far I have performed all steps listed in this thread with no luck. I don't understand how it works for some but not others.
