Guest BigOmar1980 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Hi, I have an unlocked UK version of the dell streak that i bought directly from dell 3 weeks ago, it has been working fine with my T mobile sim ever since. However only yesterday I have been getting a "No service" prompt on my lock screen, the phone cannot ring out or accept incoming calls. I took the sim out and tried it on an old nokia fone, the sim works fine which brings me to believe that the fault lies with the Dell streak itself. Has anybody ever encountered such a fault before? cheers

Upgrade your Streak to the new Android 2.1 (Eclair) you will be surprised how you have survived without it all along. Pls if you need to root your Streak pls use Universal Androot not the one for old Android 1.6. Be warned! Edited August 14, 2010 by banterbay
Guest Fawaad Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I never encountered this issue nor I think it was a common issue on 1.6 build. On top of it, 2.1 version is the beta one. You never know an upgrade may fix it. However, since your phone is directly bought from Dell, there is no straight way of updating your device with the leaked 2.1 update. I was able to install it on my Unlocked direct bought from Dell device with no hassels even though some people here are reporting a lot of instability. If I were you, I would contact Dell about the issue.
