Help please! another 2.1 brick!

I have the UK 21 streak (it was never rooted as far as I know) and its seriously stuck now!

This is what I've done...

Downloaded the 2,1 update.

renamed it Update.pkg and put it in root of SD card

Powered up with both volume keys held

chose option 2

progress bar moved ok right to the end.

then stuck on Dell logo for ages.

left it for 5 mins or so. nothing

So removed battery and powered up again.

Streak now just sits on Dell logo forever.

Have been reading things on this forum and tried to get it to fast boot mode.

Managed it once (in about 50 tries) but laptop (windows7) wont see the streak.

Have not managed to get it into fast boot again (holding camera button and power on).

Can any of you clever people out there help me.??

As much as I like the Dell logo, this is now a very expensive advert display for me!
