Froyo JIT on eclair?

just wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to backport froyos JIT dalvik to the leaked eclair build as it should increase performance even further ?

I've been playing with this the last couple of weeks, as other older devices seem to have it running, but no matter what I try (including building my own libdvm) it doesn't boot past 2nd dell logo

yep i had this same problem myself, im wondering if replacing the files while the os is running could be cause ? maybe create an update zip to try instead ?

Back in the day eclair was first ported by Cyanogen everone was asking about JIT and the reason it wasnt added to CM5 was due to its instability.

I got it working quite well on my HTC Magic but not too tempted on the streak as it can be a bit flaky [at best] although I do love my streak: please hurry back from the menders *crosses fingers*
