Animated boot confirmed to work under 2.1

Right, I'm trying to do this via adb by command 'adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/'

It says that the system is read only, so I try remount - says 'remount failed: Opperation not permitted' do I need to shell onto it and add the su command?

Hmmm, haven't the fogiest. I went via the Root Explorer route which has a mount r/w feature.

It is, £2.50. But worth it IMO because it just means you can do hackery on the move, for example - I've been at work for 10hrs and it's flew by because I've been tinkering with my Streak all day.

Turns out there's an official Dell boot animation from the 31 US Streak, didn't even know this existed???

P.S. it's a bit short so you're left with a black screen for a few seconds until the rom boots, I'm sure it could be amended.

Dont think I'm going to mess around with the boot animation any longer: the first one i tried was blank and the second one [stock US streak one] sent it into a continuous boot loop!!

Now restoring back to stock 2.1 >.<

Very strange, I've flashed loads today with any problems. Are you putting the actual bootanimation.zip in \system\media or extracting it into this foler?

It's true, it does boot up much faster when no animation shows up so it's hard to complain.
