Guest fards Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 The Droid 2 one works as well as I'm rocking it currently. im using simple android text with highlights... tempted to see if I can make the o2 one subtly animated, bubbles or something...
Guest clickspace Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Cool thanks. I found some instructions on how to make these over on the thread you posted.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623960
Guest kett Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 thanks for sharing dude! gonna try it tonigh. Is the boot animation replace the dell logo or O2 part?
Guest spences10 Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Right, I'm trying to do this via adb by command 'adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/' It says that the system is read only, so I try remount - says 'remount failed: Opperation not permitted' do I need to shell onto it and add the su command? Thanks.
Guest gingernator Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Hmmm, haven't the fogiest. I went via the Root Explorer route which has a mount r/w feature.

Guest gingernator Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 (edited) It is, £2.50. But worth it IMO because it just means you can do hackery on the move, for example - I've been at work for 10hrs and it's flew by because I've been tinkering with my Streak all day. Ok, I will go with your recommendation.
Guest gingernator Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I have this boot animation at the moment, all we need now is the rom to go with it :D
Guest gingernator Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 (edited) Turns out there's an official Dell boot animation from the 31 US Streak, didn't even know this existed??? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755384 Credit goes to mistadman @ xda P.S. it's a bit short so you're left with a black screen for a few seconds until the rom boots, I'm sure it could be amended. Guest Loconinja Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 The UK Dell-direct Streak has the same animation.
Guest spences10 Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Dont think I'm going to mess around with the boot animation any longer: the first one i tried was blank and the second one [stock US streak one] sent it into a continuous boot loop!! Now restoring back to stock 2.1 >.<
Guest gingernator Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Very strange, I've flashed loads today with any problems. Are you putting the actual bootanimation.zip in \system\media or extracting it into this foler?
Guest EZ44 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 So far the 2 boot animations I have tried just leave a black screen where the O2 splash was, then proceeds to boot into 2.1
Guest yosemite-sam Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 So far the 2 boot animations I have tried just leave a black screen where the O2 splash was, then proceeds to boot into 2.1 lol when they dont work i notice how quick it boots up compared to displaying static o2 bootimages lol id like this droid unstable core bootanim, ive got a copycat ver but its small :D here is the copycat version of it --->Unstable Core bootanimation.zip

Guest gingernator Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Quite a polished effort, keep it up!
Guest adamwalker13 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Quite a polished effort, keep it up! Thanks! Just a sample to gauge response really, but I figure 50 downloads is enough to churn out some more, so I'll start creating them tonight :P
