Nandroid backup issue

Hi All,

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to create a nandriod backup for my t-mobile pulse, and would welcome any suggestions for getting it to work.

All the amon-ra recovery image is installed and am able to get to it without any problem. On running the regular nandroid backup, it also completes fine. Unfortunately however, after the backup completes the nandroid directory on the sdrom is empty, and any attempts to (test) recover naturally fail.

Below's the backup log showing all that.

Interestingly enough while the backup is proceeding, I have connected to the thing via the adb shell and confirmed that the said directory is indeed there. It disappears as soon as backup completes. BTW I have not changed anything regarding the (supposed default) fat32 partition type, eg changing it to ext3.

Given that I need to take the phone back to a t-mobile shop due to an issue with the ear-speaker, I really would appreciate your help in getting a recovery image done.

Thanks.

Replying to my own post as I have found a solution of sorts, although not the cause... :-P

Basically I reformatted the SD Card, backing up the files beforehand naturally. After this, nandroid seemed to be happy to correctly mount & unmount the directory and write a backup.
