I do think AndExplorer is a good alternative to Astro, particularly for space saving. And a big thanks for figuring out which files are necessary for handwriting. I prefer HanvonCalla to the HWime. So this looks promising to me. Is the 明蘭 font necessary to get other things to work, or is it just because it looks nicer?

Did you update your ROM after FLB 1.4.1 was released or before?

constant FC's did not occur on my phone. (did a full wipe)

hence, I'll just leave it as 1.4

The stock DroidSansFallback.ttf (...why the heck did they name it that?) looks slightly nicer overall because it keeps all parts of a character at the right ratio. It also use some of the old alternative characters that most of us no longer use nowadays. 爲(為) and 吴(吳), for instance.

明蘭, on the other hand, would stretch the character a little bit when it comes to smaller text.

for that reason 明蘭 gets my kudos, but it is just my personal taste. won't affect anything at all.

So one more question for you. Can the three lib files (/system/lib/*.so) just be pushed onto the phone like the apk's? (To the correct folder of course.)

Edit: Yes, it worked just that simply! I just pushed the three apk's to /system/app and the three so's to /system/lib. Perfect! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. I'm thrilled with my "new" CHT8000!

I'm curious if it works with ANY rom, or just the Huawei roms.

The HWime was "ok" to use, but I kept getting simplified characters instead of traditional. It was annoying. HanvonCalla just works better for me.

Hey, TaiwanCHT8k, do you intend to keep releasing this mod of FLB each time there is an update to FLB? I'm asking because I'm considering just switching over to FLB a the base for the TWeak rom I just released. (That was really bad timing!) FLB 1.5 is almost exactly what I've wanted in a rom, so I don't see any purpose in spending time trying to do a lot of extra work myself.

So unless I hear from you, I'll "tweak" FLB 1.5 and release it for CHT8000 users (and anyone else who wants Chinese handwriting input). This time I'll add the TW-zh prop tweaks too.

Er...nope, I have no intention to update it anymore, unless there are significant FLBmod updates, like from 1.31 to 1.4.

Prior to the release of 1.5 (8/21),

I scrambled these into two separate zip files:

flb-home-tweaked.zip,

SPF.apk,

ADW1.1.1,

and framework-res.apk (to replace those goblin/Shrek looking emoticons, yuck!)

but decided not to release them as updates eventually.
