Guest dleeming Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Hi, I have been using wm6.5 versions and find them not as good as 6.1. Does anyone have a GOOD recommendations for a good quality 6.1 ROM. In english please. Thank you
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 I was a fanatic supporter of 6.1s. Because i900 is made for the 6.1s; the 6.5.x or the new Win7 needs powerfull CPU, memory etc. But, if you tested 6.5.x for some time and you're a good looking graphics' fun, you just CAN'T go back to 6.1! WinMo6.1 are VERY "poor" in graphics, effects etc.
Guest melburnian Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Hi, I have been using wm6.5 versions and find them not as good as 6.1. Does anyone have a GOOD recommendations for a good quality 6.1 ROM. In english please. Thank you Hi dleeming There are some great 6.1 ROM from some great chefs. Here are some: Shokka's 6.1 G-Rom - http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...s-wm6-1-g-romz/ Kunchai's Omnia II Rom - http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...september-2009/ Ryrzy's 6.1 - http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...-i900-by-ryrzy/ QBus's QB06 and 07 - http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...07-dxid1-qb07m/ All of these ROM are classic, cooked by great chefs. The hardest part is choosing one that suits you according to what is important to you. Good luck and enjoy it the testing :D

You just forgot t2008's roms, also a great 6.1 "chef"! Sector was also a good 6.1 "chef", although he moved soon to 6.5s.

Guest mureta Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) t2008 made 3-4 UBSOLUTELY AMAZING roms; check the Net if you can still find them. Hello andrew.mazlim, just saw the post leap__ahead ... incredible ... I'm working with to develop a great memory, I'm still in the beginning ... thanks for the tip! :D Sorry my bad english. Cheers bro! Edited August 21, 2010 by mureta
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Generally, if you can PASS the graphics part (I was, now I can't!) of the 6.1s - it's quite obvious 6.5s are AMAZING better looking than 6.1s - and choose to use 6.1 for your i900 Omnia, then you'll find out your device is working really great and without problems!!! I was a fanatic 6.1 supporter for over 1 year (after I first bought my i900), but since I tested some fantastic graphics' 6.5s, I couldn't go back to 6.1... But... if we don't want to joking each other, if someone wants the BEST O.S. for his i900, the only choice is a custom 6.1 rom! It hearts to saying this (because I'm really like the 6.5s' graphics), but it's true. So... t2008, Shokka9, Khuanchai, Ryrzy, Qbus... is the only way to look forward, about a good/stable rom.
Guest shokka9 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Yeah, check mine out  Khuanchai, Ryrzy, Qbus, sector, t2008 are also good chefs. WM6.1 is more stable than WM6.5.x any day, but like mentioned above, they dont look as nice. But if you are after fast & stable...then try my G-Rom WM6.1 as linked above, it was rocket like and very stable. Take care Edited August 23, 2010 by shokka9

Actually Andrew, The graphics are the 6.1 is not good. Since I am the beginning and still do not know, I wanted to try a fusion of 6.1 with a 6.5. For me, stability, battery and speed are indispensable. I have a lot to learn yet. Cheers Andrew.

Since the first Roms as their others, are indeed special and that is what I took my inspiration. How do we know you're a legend for improvements to the Omnia, thanks so much for so many improvements. And I wanted to emphasize one thing: I will not generalize but the Masters in the kitchen here Modaco could give more emphasis to beginners because when we post a question for example had a bug in the kitchen platform rebuilder of Vistang and it took several days for someone experienced this a hint how to solve but also tried with WozzeR's from the 9th of July and so far I did not had a response. But thank God I could solve. I think the union should be best among all for the good of Omnianos. The G-Rom 6.1 is fantastic. Sorry my bad english  Cheers Shokka9. Mates, I wrote it too and Shokka9 mention also. Try his (Shokk9's) 6.1s too, they're rocking! All the above cheffs' work in 6.1s is superb; the only "con" of 6.1s... are the graphics. Really poor, comparing with the 6.5s. That's why, even if I loved so much (and supported) the 6.1s, I turned to 6.5s.

Like Shokka9 said (and many "mythical" cheffs like him told me too, when I was "green"), since you're new user, try to play for few months with 6.1 custom roms and when you'll be bored from 6.1s' graphics (I was!), then you can try and play with 6.5s. Shokka9 said above, I mention too, many others wrote it many times... i900 is MADE for 6.1! NOT for 6.5! Running 6.5 is risky for stability - but I don't care personaly, because I'm using my i900 as phone/GPS and all I want more, is a great looking layout. So, the only way is 6.5s.

G-Rom 6.1 is fantastic. Sorry my bad english  Cheers Shokka9. Your English is fine ;) I know my ROMs were good (as everybody told me :D), my G-ROM was a remake before i stopped cooking, so it should be one of the best 6.1's around :( It's hard to answer questions from a beginner. I am an administrator for samsung-omnia.org and i sometime leave the basic queries to the other moderators, as sometime we (advanced users/chefs) can explain things a little too well (if that makes sense). I try to help, but sometimes, i might not want to help as i know it will end up taking up a lot of time. The main reason i stopped cooking, was a time related issue. Cooking can literally take up ALL your free time. So something has to give in the end. But i will be back on some Windows Phone 7 device (Samsung i917 - GSM equilavent maybe??) but i dont know yet which device. Also Android 3.0 too :D Busy times ahead.....but this time, i am prepared for it!!!!! Take care peoples.

Enough to run our daily work, college ... But we still need you here in Modaco with or without i917/Android  :D Samsung i917 Cetus and glossy black clamshell with curves that fit perfectly in the pocket of our pants (lol). We still do not know the release date, nor the hardware configuration but is likely to Super AMOLED screen has greater clarity than any other screen ever made. Android promises much. Only the goodwill of the big ones! Cheers Shokka9

Guest shokka9 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 @ andrew.mazlim I believe it is SHKv99 or 88 (not sure ;)); they were built with the latest files etc i had before i stopped cooking...they both had LZX compression so had lots of free memory. Try it, if you dont enjoy, go back to SHKv18 :( Good luck..... @ mureta I have lots of interests (phones, PCs, Consoles, Mountain Bikes + all other Tech etc). At the moment, i have a 'Project Headphone' that i am working on.... I got a pair of Shure SRH-840's headphones which i am making a custom cable for (3.5mm jack to 2.5mm jack) these babies will sound superb!! Waiting for my wires to come from USA :D So, time is also important to me. I have my kids most weekends too. But i try to find time to be here too, but sometimes its hard to post when there are so many threads etc. We can but try
