Help with using Laptop's internet on HTC Desire via WIFI

Hello..

I just got my Android based HTC Desire... I want to use my laptop's LAN connection over wifi in the HTC Desire.. Can anybody help me or provide me with any guide???

The regular methods of creating ad-hoc network in Windows 7 does not work with HTC Desire so maybe someone can give me any alternative method... ??

My Desire works fine. Are you using 2.2 or 2.1?

What app are you using to create the network?

Unless your laptop wifi card supports true AP mode, the Desire (well not only the desire, but Androis OS in general till Gingerbread i've heard) cannot connect to ad-hoc mode without manual file editing or using the hack in this thread:
