Guest waj1234 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 I have just sold my desire for a pulse and updated to the tmob 2.1 then the flb rom but it does not seem to have the normal phone dial pad type keypad for text? Am I just not able to find it in settings or does it not have one? Cheers Simon.
Guest nicox45 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 when you are going to type, long press the input box, then choose input method and then android keyboard, cheers!

Yeah I can get the android one but its a qwerty and I want one that looks like a standard phone keypad with T9 if you know what I mean. My wifes optimus and my desire both had one and I got used to it lol.

Select TouchPal and then press settings on keyboard. after that choose layout in portrait and landscape... you need 12-key phone keyboard layout....
Guest waj1234 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Let me get this straight you sold a HTC desire for a Tmobile Pulse ??!! Dan Thats right yeah. I got an LG optimus, had it 24 hours and the wife took it and gave me her HTC HD2 as she was converted to andeoid immediately. I dont like windows so as it was mint I swapped it for a mint sim free desire. After just one day of using it I knew it was over kill for me so I sold it for £270 and bought a new pulse for £90 and saved some money. I do not miss the desire at all, this is just as good for me. Yeah the camera aint as good and its slower but I can live with that. Select TouchPal and then press settings on keyboard. after that choose layout in portrait and landscape... you need 12-key phone keyboard layout.... Thanks, I found it eventually. You can also swipe horizontally on it and it changes. Though the touchpal kb is one of the best I have ever tried and is very acurate. Cheers Simon.

The desire is good but it seems too expensive to me to be in my back pocket as its worth as much as a laptop and I would not carry that around lol. The pulse does all I need. It is slower I agree. I have the flb rom at the mo and it seems to freeze and be very slow so may need to do it again or try a differenr rom etc.

Oh, and the Pulse does everything I need perfectly. I use it for push gmail and some surfing, some facebook and youtube (and texts and calling, of course). It's not about how good something is, it's about getting the maximum out of it. And this community is making Pulse one of the few phones that have personality :D And personality goes a long way! (Quote from one of my favourite movies: "Pulp Fiction") ;) I love my Pulse :D And I'll be making sure that I'll be updating it regularly and frequently for as long as my contract with T-mobile is active, if not longer. Call me a proud Pulse owner! :D
