Boot animation issues?...

Something I have been meaning to ask...

does anyone else have the problem that the boot animation only shows up some times?

I have noticed that it just about always shows up after a reboot from the recovery mode screens etc, but not always when just rebooting the phone.

I get the Telstra splash screen a few seconds after turning on/rebooting (on a Australian HTC desire with Telstra) and then 90% of the time just a black screen until booted.

10% of the time I get the Telstra splash screen, black screen for 5 seconds or so, then the boot animation.

Iam using the r8 kitchen mod...

Any ideas?

I booted only twice with r8 WIP from yesterday afternoon and both times I got the boot animation (1st time the MoDaCo one then the Matrix one I installed using Root Explorer, thanks to Paul for the symlink by the way!).
